Rubens Calling
Junebugg and Pammy are onto something I've been asking about for years.
I have always heard men preferred voluptuous Rubens-esque type women; however, American culture seems to inundate us with these images of wispy women with often boy-like figures.
Well, which is it?
Both Junebugg and Pammy have images and further discussions on their sites. Check them out, then let me know what YOU think.
Posted by Christina at June 6, 2005 11:02 AMI don't know about anyone else, but I prefer the "full-figured" look. I thought it was great when, in "In & Out", Matt Dillon told Joan Cusack that she shouldn't have lost all that weight, that she was perfect as she was. And when he told the thin model he was dating, "Eat something, I'm begging you. You look like a swizzle stick."
Posted by: Walrilla at June 6, 2005 12:25 PMI am with Walrilla on this. I am attracted to women that the media would probably call "fill-figured," but whom I would call real. I see the women in advertising and they are so skinny their bodies look like Leanardo DiCaprio with long hair and lispstick. I don't understand why they still use them. Give me a pretty, curvy Latina like my wife any day!
Posted by: bill at June 6, 2005 12:38 PMI'm with Bill- my curvy Latina wife is the only one for me! I like women to look like women!
Posted by: Sean at June 6, 2005 12:49 PMWhilst I am curvy, I think I still strive to be thin. My husband likes curvy, but you can't escape the "thin-is-in" crowd these days. What happened to the Marilyn Monroe size 12 as the picture of what's nice about a woman's shape? Hmmm?
Posted by: Oddybobo at June 6, 2005 01:08 PMFull-figured for me too. I hate when I see an actress I like and then two films later she's gone on a heroine-chic diet.

Then let me add that my full figured Chinese wif is the only one for me. That soft maturity of a female figure says woman much better than the stilted creatures stalking around the catwalk.
Posted by: tincanman at June 6, 2005 08:46 PMMy husband likes thin women. Always has.
