Me and Mini-me
The girls are now fourteen and six.
Sweet One looks the most like me. In fact, I doubt a clone of me at that age could look any different.
Appearances can be deceiving because she is more like her father in personality.
On the other hand, Wee One looks almost nothing like me with her fairer skin and sandy blonde hair. Notwithstanding, she is definitely me made over in the personality department. I think she might even be me times two because she has such a force of will and independence one second, then becomes the most tender-hearted and loving creature the next.
Both girls have their father wrapped around each of their little fingers.
On Sunday the husband bought a new John Deer tractor to mow the lawn. To my recollection, it is the first brand new one he has ever purchased for himself. His other tractors were purchased used or given as hand-me-downs.
Sweet One had arranged with another little friend of hers to go the waterpark on Sunday afternoon. The husband was responsible for picking them up. The plan was they would call him when they were ready.
As he was out playing with the new tractor and mowing the lawn, I saw him driving around one-handed. In the other was his cell phone set to vibrate so he would not miss Sweet's call.
As simple as that was, I thought it was completely endearing.
I am the lucky one.

Posted by: Lolly at May 3, 2007 04:08 PMOoops! Wait, he didn't have to pick up Wee. Oh well. I'm sure Wee had a hand in there somewhere.
