BOOBS

Today's topic of conversation and horror: Fake boobs.

Outside of hollywood and medically-related reconstructive surgeries, what gives with the fake boob thing?

One of my neighbors has just totally freaked me out.

She is an attractive thin, tall, and blonde lady who is thirty-five or so. She has probably been married at least ten years and has two sons under the age of ten.

Her naturally appearing chest size appeared to have been a B-cup.

A few days ago I delivered the items she ordered from the Pampered Chef party and she came bouncing out in a halter with at least a pair of D-cups.

While I tried not to stare, I could not help but notice with her plunging v-neck that the skin appeared awfully taut over her majorly perky breasts.

As she walked away her figure was disporportionately top-heavy.

Why?

[[i've never understood why anyone would want them, honestly.]]

Wow. I have no idea why you would want that....

Well, while I would never encourage my wife, girlfriend, or significant other to GET a pair, I wouldn't do much to discourage her, either.

Men. We're just disgusting like that.

I've heard there's actually a new trend with the Hollywood set to have breast reductions....in pursuit of that ultra skinny size 0 look. But I haven't seen much evidence of that. There's an awful lot of fake boobs in Los Angeles.

I have two friends who've had breast implants. One woman had to have them done twice because something went wrong with the first pair. Eeek! The other woman says sometimes she doesn't even know her husband is touching her breasts because she no longer has any feeling in them. Ack!

I think I'll just stick with the natural look!

Honestly, I wouldn't do it myself, but I've known a lot of women who are discontented with what nature gave them. So, I can understand where the desire comes from.

But, if any of these women knew the horror of having co-workers, subordinates, or any potential romantic connection being unable to see anything north of their chins, they'd think twice about trading up.

I understand that girls with boyish figures might desire a more curvy figure, but it can be hell finding clothes that fit a curvier figure. All the fashions right now are designed for a 2x4.

It's not something I'd ever consider for myself. Even if it sounded like a good idea (it does not to me), I'd think about all the women who have had physical problems connected with the surgery.

I remember many years ago watching the 'Gong Show' and a fake beauty pageant. One of the contestants' measurements were 29-29-29; my brother-in-law laughed and said anyone who had less than a 30" bust should hide. My sister (his wife!) was only 29 3/4". To make a long story short, a few years later, she did have surgery, at least enough to bring her up to a 32" chest!! She didn't go overboard and they don't look fake. Her hubby never knew how he had hurt her and knowing my brother-in-law like I do, he would kick himself in the butt if he did know.

Is it the grass is greener thing? People with straight hair get perms, people with brown hair have their hair colored, etc. I know enough people with to much (including myself) and would love to have breast reductions. They get in the way, your bra straps dig in, and those damn underwires suck. I would be a B to C cup anyday!!!!

That's one thing I can honestly say I don't think I'll ever need. I may need something to haul the damn things up some in a few years but to add more? HELL NO!

Eww! Big boobs?! Yuck! I hate them! In fact, let me go look for some to remind myself of just how much I cannot stand them...

Well, I've never had the desire for augmentation; however, a good friend of mine is actually going in for her consultation tomorrow. She is a beautiful woman, but she feels that when she looks at herself in the mirror there is a teenage boy looking back at her. Her idea of augmentation is to bring her naturally "Barely B" self to a "normal C" cup. Since she is doing this specifically for herself, I can't help but be supportive. But that's just me. :-)

All I know, my darling, is that I realized I picked the best day to return to the blogsphere when I read the title of this post... ;)
